God Beyond Fear: Breaking the Myths Around ATR, Hell, and the Devil

If for even one second you believe that ATR practices—or what many label as “religions”—don’t believe in God, let me clear that up right now: we absolutely believe in God. God simply carries a different name and expression than what is found in Abrahamic traditions.

Unlike Christianity, the “devil” so many assume exists in our systems does not exist in the same way—if at all. That concept is rooted in Christian ideology and has historically been used as a fear mechanism. The truth is, what people call “the devil” exists within human consciousness.

Before anyone gets their panties or boxers twisted—let me explain.

In Christian thought, hell is defined as a literal place where, if you don’t meet certain biblical standards, you’re subjected to eternal punishment and torture 🙄. But hell is better understood as a mental and experiential state. From a mental-health lens alone, hell is lived daily by many.

When you’re trapped in cycles of depression, anxiety, or constant stress—running the same thoughts on repeat—what do you think that is? Yep. Hell.

When you’re trying to survive financially and the weight of “how am I going to make this work?” is crushing you—that’s another form of hell.

Spiritually, this is known as the dark night of the soul: a necessary period of dismantling old beliefs, values, habits, and patterns so the old self can die and the new self can emerge. I was raised hearing this truth: heaven or hell can be lived right here on Earth. Why wait to leave this physical body to experience something you’re already choosing daily?

Are there troubled or tortured spirits? Yes. Because they were troubled in life and chose not to heal or elevate beyond it. There are other planes and realms—some darker—but those are their domains, not for the human soul. I’ve said before: there are numerous planes far beyond Earth, and not every being wants human interaction anyway. Some doors are simply not open to us—and that’s okay.

Now, for those who believe ancestors are “just dead,” yet fully accept receiving messages from the Creator—why wouldn’t the Creator (gender-neutral, by the way) use those who are familiar to you? Communication comes through comfort and recognition.

The term “familiar spirits” that Christians often reference actually originates from Wiccan folklore. Ironically, many Christian phrases come from traditions they openly label as witchcraft. Not shaming—just pointing out the contradiction because it is interesting.

The Bible itself states that God can and will use anyone or anything to deliver a message. That same God spoke through a donkey… and a rock 🤣. And let’s be clear: the Bible is a collection of lived experiences—stories—just like the one you are living right now. You are actively writing yours, just as they did eons ago.

And let’s park this thought right here: God is omnipresent—existing before you and long after you. The Bible also says that everything God created was good. The Book of Enoch explains why spiritual gifts and what people call “magic” exist—introduced through the angels, notably Metatron.

So here’s the question:

If God had intention—was it not intended for humans to have gifts and abilities? If God lives in us, and we are reflections of God, how could these things be accidental?

If God were truly displeased, the slate could have been wiped clean at any moment. These gifts wouldn’t exist, and we’d be blind—fumbling through darkness with no way to recognize or hear the divine voice within us.
